MaryClaire & Isaac had the most love filled and classy black tie soiree with impeccable event planning and coordination from SoiréeSmith. See the end of the post for all the vendors involved.

As documentary photographers we’re balancing coverage to reveal not just our wedded couple at their best but also those who surround them in community and the settings in which it all took place.

We were sadly reminded of why we focus so much on the family and community when just months after the wedding MaryClaire’s father tragically passed away.  Fortunately we were able to capture so many precious memories of MC with her dad at this event. I’ve included many of them here as tribute.

We start the day with intricate photographs of the invitation suite and other special touches.

We caught MC & her sister embracing in matching PJs. MC checks out where hung her gown for detail photos. She’s ready to put this on!

MC was aided by her mother and sister. The lace topper is buttoned.

Isaac got ready at a nearby hotel before heading over to MC’s family home for a first look.

Isaac and his best man sharing a moment. Isaac’s ready.

Bridal details were so classy. I want to get feature shots while hair and makeup are spotless.

Putting on the veil and testing the blusher is always a special photograph.

A couple more bridal portraits before we headed downstairs to see family, bridesmaids, and finally Isaac!

My second photographer joined me in time to catch the family reactions to MC in her gown.

A couple sweet photos with dad before MC reads a card from Isaac (who was waiting in the next room!).

Their expressions say it all. I did a zoom scout of the house with the mother of the bride in the week prior to the wedding and we picked this golden room for its light and simplicity as a rain or shine first look option.

Wow! The radiant smiles on these two.

A twirl and then a portrait.

The bridesmaids were next! Group hugs followed!

We made dozens of group portraits in the back yard after everyone had seen MC. We captured family, siblings groups, each wedding attendant with their friend, and more.

Departing for St Jogues Catholic Church! MC’s dad was looking proud and amused to be so heavily photographed.

Candids before the ceremony. We capture warm welcomes and anyone helping make the day special.

More candid pre-ceremony coverage.

Some were amused at how much trouble the aisle runner was to pull.

The final moments before the walk.

MC and her dad seeing everyone awaiting them.

The moment.

From the front of the aisle I capture our bride walking towards the groom and then swivel to capture the groom’s expression. My 2nd photographer will capture the view from the back of the aisle as a safety.

The longest married couples stand. MC takes note.

One couple has been married the longest.

Nailed the dip!

Some quick but done right family formals then a grand exit into the Spring sunshine!

Look at that crowd and the streamers waving.

Back at the venue we captured some country club group and couple’s photos before cocktail hour.

Near and far. I like to work with 2-3 lenses quickly to capture both wide full length types of shots as well as close intimate details.

Spring Wedding Season at Exmoor Country Club, Highland Park, IL

This room and the soft greens, white, and gold really brought the life.

Every detail down to the plates were on brand.

These two had practiced a choreographed ballroom number. I wanted to show not only their preparation, catching key movements, but also the joy it brought to all their guests.

One of my favorite things to do is capture these medium wide shots where you can see the couple and their friends and family in the same frame.

Nailed the landing.

Proud parents.
