Wes: What are three adjectives that describe your wedding’s vibe or theme?
Heidi: Elegant, Simple, Multicultural
Wes: What is your best or favorite memory or moment of the wedding day?
Heidi: Walking down the aisle was our favorite part because i was able to see my friends and family smiling around me, my handsome groom waiting for me, and Kimball loved seeing me made beautiful for him, knowing that i would shortly be his wife. It was the overall feeling that all that we had been working hard for over the past few months had come together beautifully in a God honoring way. We also really enjoyed having the art gallery next to our reception venue made available to us for our cocktail hour. It gave our guests a unique place to gather and provided an interesting backdrop for photos.
Wes: Do you have any advice for future brides as they plan their wedding? What would you do differently? What would you do exactly the same?
Heidi: Persevere! Sometimes, planning seems like more stress than fun, but relish the fun moments. One of our best memories was doing the cake tasting with my Mom.I bought or ordered several things ahead of time that i thought i would need because i wanted to be on top of things. If i had it to do again, i would be more patient and wait on some things closer to the date.Everything came together well on the day, so there is not much that i would change. I really love how the flowers turned out, so i would definitely do something similar again.
Wes: Where did you honeymoon? Would you recommend it? Why or why not?
Heidi: We went to Hawaii to the islands of Maui and Hawaii spending 5 days in each place. It was a great place to go during Chicago’s winter and we would gladly go there again. Hawaii is great place to enjoy a different culture while staying in the US, and the beaches, whales, variety of plant life and good food helped make our experience memorable.
